Alder Creek Project in the Portland Harbor Proceeding

The Alder Creek Restoration Project on Sauvie Island, Oregon is one of the most exciting projects in company history. Wildlands is developing a restoration project within the Portland Harbor Superfund Study Area which will assist the Portland Harbor Trustees (Trustees) and Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs) achieve cleanup goals within the Harbor.

The project will create natural resource credits which will be made available for purchase to PRPs as a mechanism for environmental damage compensation. The project will dismantle a 32-acre active sawmill complex and then restore the site to a mosaic of riparian, channel, tidal marsh, and mud flat habitats.

The project is located at the southernmost tip of Sauvie Island and will provide a substantial benefit to native fish species and other wildlife in the project vicinity.
