Natomas Basin Conservancy Mitigation Preserves

The Natomas Basin Conservancy hired Wildlands to design and
build habitat on the Conservancy’s mitigation lands in Sacramento
and Sutter Counties, California. Tasks include preparation of
design drawings, construction documents, grading and planting
plans; construction notes, and as-built drawings; coordination of
permitting; bidding and construction management; and biological
monitoring for protection of giant garter snakes, in compliance
with the Habitat Conservation Plan. Seven Conservancy properties
have been completed and two more are under construction in 2004.

Species Success Feature: Federally listed giant garter snake found
in restored habitat on the Conservancy’s first constructed mitigation
preserve.
