Residential Development Mitigation: East Sheridan Mitigation Preserve
Community growth in Placer County, California has brought a need for new home
developments. One builder ran up against a lack of timely mitigation alternatives.
Wildlands stepped in and provided a fast and cost-effective solution, by creating
a new mitigation preserve east of the town of Sheridan.
The East Sheridan Mitigation Preserve encompasses gently rolling grasslands
and swales, with a vernal pool complex spreading over 300 acres. A combination
of vernal pool preservation and creation credits enabled the developer to
meet his permit requirements and proceed with the project.

Credits available for mitigation of impacts
to wetlands and endangered species
