Water and Air Quality (Emerging Services)

Issues of water quality and flooding resulting from surface runoff are causing growing concern to local, state, and federal regulatory bodies. Air quality is also an ongoing concern as communities grow. Flourishing natural habitat contributes to improved water and air quality. Wildlands' habitat restoration and preservation efforts play a part.

Wetlands help to clean and process runoff water. We are also in the process of documenting air quality benefits such as carbon sequestration, which is achieved through restoration and preservation of grasslands and oak woodlands. Wildlands is also working to establish flood retention areas on our existing properties to make that added benefit available to developers in need of reducing surface runoff in the watershed.
