Rebecca Amos, or Becky as she is known throughout the office, grew up the youngest of two siblings in Fremont, California. She graduated high school from Mission San Jose and started her college career at Sierra College in Rocklin, California. She then transferred to California State University, Chico, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science.

Becky joined the Wildlands team in March of 2002. She was hired as an administrative assistant to both the Design/Build and Land Management departments. Having worked for construction companies all throughout college, she had a basic understanding of the construction field and terminology, but she was clearly more interested in the land management/agricultural component that aligned with her degree.

“I actually applied for a position as the marketing coordinator knowing full well I was not qualified for that particular position. However, after researching Wildlands, I knew I wanted to work there in some capacity, so I submitted my resume anyways hoping someone would see my qualifications and find a spot for me. And they did!”

After several years with the company, Wildlands decided to expand the Land Acquisition department and gave Becky the opportunity to move positions. So after about a year and a half, Becky obtained her California real estate license and became the Land Acquisition Coordinator. In 2012, her great efforts were recognized, and she was promoted to Land Acquisition Manager.

As a licensed California Real Estate Agent and the Land Acquisition Manager, Becky is responsible for tracking and coordinating the land acquisition process from start to finish for all Wildlands’ properties. From the internal reconnaissance review of properties through the close of escrow, her range of responsibilities include negotiations, contract preparation, and coordination through the due diligence process. She works directly with the Marketing and Sales department to determine appropriate locations and lands to support the company’s immediate and long-term plans. She also maintains and fosters relationships with property sellers, owners and brokers. She negotiates price and contract terms with all sellers, while ensuring the transaction stays in line with company goals.

In the last five years, Becky has closed over 120 escrows on over 250 parcels, helping Wildlands conserve an additional 20,000 acres in the State of California alone.

When asked what she likes to do when she isn’t working, Becky replied, “Drink wine, mostly,” but really, most of her free time is spent with family. She loves being a football/baseball mom to her two sons, Caleb (9) and Dylan (7), as well as spending time with her husband Darrell.

They are happy to live close to lots of extended family, so they can get together on a regular basis to cheer on and support all of the kids (she has 3 nieces and 2 nephews as well) or just sit down for a Sunday family dinner. They also have a long standing tradition to spend two weeks every summer at Becky’s favorite place on Earth, Graeagle, California.
