Wildlands is pleased to announce construction is complete at the Fremont Landing Salmon Conservation Bank in Yolo County, California. The bank was approved by NMFS to mitigate for impacts listed salmonids species in the Central Valley. The site is located at a critical point in the system at the confluence of the Sacramento and Feather Rivers.
The primary goal of the Fremont Landing Bank is to preserve, enhance, and restore riparian and wetland habitat to aid recovery of NOAA listed fisheries. The project will alleviate fish stranding in borrow pits adjacent to the river and enhance and restore riparian habitat.
The site supports essential off channel refugia for juvenile salmon during high water events and protects designated critical habitat.
