Mitigation Bank and Conservation Bank Updates

Sacramento River Ranch Wetland Mitigation Bank
Construction of the Phase 2 wetland habitat was completed this summer.   A substantial amount of the wetland mitigation credits assigned to the project will be released upon agency review and approval of the construction as-builts, anticipated this fall.  These credits are needed as we see the local Sacramento economy rebound.

Fremont Landing Salmon Conservation Bank
Approximately 30% of the salmon fisheries credits were recently released for sale at the bank.  Projects which are required to consult with National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) and need compensatory mitigation for impacts to listed salmonid species within the anadromous reaches of Central Valley Rivers are eligible to use the bank’s credits.  The credits were awarded upon completion of construction and NMFS approval of the as-built drawings in early 2013.

Inventory Update
Sacramento Valley Regional wetland and species mitigation inventory is shrinking! Wildlands has seen a dramatic reduction in available vernal pool and wetland mitigation in our Sacramento region due to the recent uptick in the economy.  Please call us to discuss your project timing.

Lunch and Learn Presentations
Wildlands continues to sponsor lunch and learn presentations for consulting firms, developers and law firms.  Please contact us if you would like us to buy your staff lunch and hear more about Wildlands’ services and available mitigation options.
